Do I really get 13,000 miles without spending?

Yes, as a new cardholder. Standard Chartered's 1 October 2026 referral terms give 10,000 miles plus a 3,000-mile 10th-anniversary bonus for applications by 1 January 2027 with the card issued by 31 March 2027, with no spend requirement, credited by 30 June 2027. Existing Standard Chartered cardholders get 5,000; anyone who holds an SC Cathay principal card, or cancelled one in the past 6 months, gets none.

Can I get 120,000 welcome miles on the standard card?

No. The standard card tops out at 40,000 welcome miles for HK$110,000 of spend in 2 months. 120,000 is the Priority Private version, and 100,000 the Priority Banking version.

HK$2,000 on the standard card, waived in the first year; after that it is waived only if, in the fee month, you are a Priority Banking or Premium Banking client meeting the balance requirement or a payroll-account client. The Priority Banking and Priority Private versions cost HK$4,000 and HK$8,000, waived with a daily average total balance of HK$1 million and HK$8 million. Fees already paid are not refunded.

Within three months of approval, spend HK$8,000 local HKD (96,000 welcome + 108,000 Referral Bonus points) and HK$30,000 eligible spend (282,000 points), and enrol in the Local Spend Bonus Program for up to 90,000 points on the first HK$15,000 local HKD by 31 December 2026. That's 576,000 points, or 32,000 miles at 18,000 points per 1,000 miles.
