JengDeal pick: Eskimo code CWJK257 — 500MB of free Global data, no expiry date
Free data with no card needed: that's what we call generous. Download Eskimo through the link and sign up with referral code CWJK257 (forgot it? You can add it within 24 hours of signing up) to get 500MB of Global data, usable in 111+ countries according to Eskimo, with no purchase. The data has no expiry date, so leftovers wait for your next trip, but an account with no activity at all for more than two years gets cancelled. It stops at zero with no auto-charge, and the in-app scratch cards can add more data (Eskimo doesn't publish how much each one pays). You can claim it on any phone, but you need an unlocked eSIM phone to install and use it; Hong Kong iPhone 11 to 16 models (bar the 12 mini, 13 mini and 16e), XR and XS Max have no eSIM.

Pros
- 500MB of Global data free, with no purchase and no card details.
- No expiry date, so you can keep the data for a later trip (any activity at least once every two years keeps the account open).
- Scratch cards in the app can add more free Global data.
- One eSIM for 111+ countries, and later plans are added in the app with no reinstalling.
Watch out for
- 500MB is small for anything beyond maps, messaging and light browsing.
- Scratch cards are a promotional bonus; Eskimo doesn't publish what each card pays.
- Not a cash reward, and paid plans are priced in US dollars.
- Installing and using the data needs an unlocked, eSIM-compatible phone.
- Apple lists iPhone XR, XS Max and iPhone 11 to 16 models bought in Hong Kong or Macao (except the 12 mini, 13 mini and 16e) as two-nano-SIM phones with no eSIM; mainland China models also differ. Check Apple's list or dial *#06# for an EID before buying.
