How to claim
- Tap the Pelago invite on this page. It takes you to Pelago's referral page with US$16 off for newbies.
- Sign up right there with KrisFlyer, Google, Facebook or email. It has to be a brand-new account made on the invite page, or the code won't stick.
- Get the Pelago app on your iPhone or Android and log in with the same account. The code only works in the app.

Watch out for

- One code per booking: on your first booking it's the referral code or Pelago's own new-account discount, not both.
- Miles go to KrisFlyer, not Asia Miles, so it's less exciting if Asia Miles is all you collect.
- Bookings go through Singapore, so some Hong Kong cards slap on a foreign transaction fee even in Hong Kong dollars; cancellation rules change from activity to activity too.

- Can Hong Kong people use the Pelago invite?
- Yep. The terms don't limit invited users by where they live; anyone new to Pelago who signs up on the invite page gets it. The code is in US dollars because the invite locks in the currency and amount.
- Does the code work on the Pelago website?
- Nope. Referral codes are app-only. Sign up on the invite page, then log in to the app with the same account before you book.
- How does it work if I pay in Hong Kong dollars?
- It's a fixed US$8 a go, about HK$63, and the minimum is S$75 or the equivalent, about HK$459. Check the discount and the charging currency on the checkout screen before you pay.
- Why won't the code apply at checkout?
- Usually the booking is under S$75 or the equivalent, you're on the website instead of the app, the product's excluded, another code is already on, or the 90 days are up.
- Can I stack it with another Pelago code?
- No. The referral scheme doesn't stack with other promos or codes, so it's one per booking. Pelago's own 10% new-account code, capped at S$10, also only works on a first booking. The invite pitches the referral code as US$8 off your first two app bookings, so use it there: US$8 (about S$10.25) is at least as much as that cap.
- I already signed up to Pelago. Can I add the invite now?
- No. The code only attaches to a new account made on the invite page, and Pelago counts extra accounts opened for rewards as abuse.
