What the parcel actually costs: Buy&Ship pounds, fuel and claims

Run the 9 October 2026 public prices before you pay. Pickup, the fuel add-on, size, storage and the 3-day claim. Checkout is the number that counts.
Five steps before you pay
- Weigh it, then round to the next 0.1 pound. A whole waybill under 1 pound becomes 1 pound.
- Pick collection. Lai Chi Kok is 24, other Buy&Ship points 27, SF or Cainiao 32, the post office 34. Business delivery is also 32, plus HK$20 for residential or remote orders. Outlying islands are not served.
- Check the warehouse against the fuel list: Korea, the US, Canada, the UK, Italy and Australia add HK$1 a pound.
- Measure the longest side and the three sides together. US, Canada and the UK: 140 cm and 250 cm. Japan and Korea: 100 and 200. Other warehouses: 80 and 150.
- Keep the invoice and the packaging. The free cover claim window is 3 days after delivery.
Three pounds from the US, labelled as an example
Chargeable weight exactly 3.0 pounds, Lai Chi Kok, fuel still on. 3 × 24 is HK$72 and 3 × 1 is HK$3, so HK$75 together. Rounding to 3.1, switching to SF, or the surcharge ending changes it. The example is not your bill. Checkout is.
China freight to a Buy&Ship point is a different tariff: HK$10 for the first 2 pounds, then HK$5. SF or Cainiao is HK$36 then HK$12. China and overseas parcels cannot share one box.

Pickup storage is separate: Buy&Ship points say 3 or 7 working days, an SF point 2 days, an SF locker 1 day, OK 2 days, Cainiao or a post office 3 working days.
The claim email needs three attachments
Email [email protected] within 3 days of delivery. Put free shipping cover, your member number, the waybill and the word claim in the subject. Attach proof of purchase with quantity and value, the seller's dispatch email, and photos. Missing one of them can sink the claim. Keep the box and the contents until the investigation ends. The help article says a reply within 7 days once the papers are complete.
Pay-out uses the lower of the declared value and the receipt, capped at US$100 for a full loss, in Hong Kong dollars at the exchange rate. Free cover does not return or replace the goods. Buy&Ship Plus is a separate paid plan. Do not mix its cap into this free one.

FAQ
- Is every country HK$24 a pound?
- No. HK$24 is the published Lai Chi Kok pickup rate. Other points, SF, Cainiao, the post office and delivery differ, and some countries add HK$1 a pound for fuel.
- Can a Taobao parcel and a US parcel share a box?
- The pricing page says China forwarding and overseas forwarding cannot be combined into one parcel.
- If one item inside is missing, does free cover pay?
- Not for that. Free cover pays only when the whole parcel is lost, up to US$100. A partial loss is excluded.
- How fast do I have to say something?
- Email within 3 days, with the invoice, the dispatch email and photos. Missing papers can mean a refusal.
- Can it sit in the Hong Kong warehouse past a month?
- Consolidation is free for 30 days, then HK$10 a piece a day. The help article says abandonment after 45 days and the pricing page says after 46. Ask which clock applies before you order.
