How to claim
- Open the FROM JAPAN link on this page and create your One Map account in the same browser session, so the sign-up is recorded as an introduction.
- Find what you want by pasting an item URL or searching Mercari JP, JDirectItems Auction, Rakuten, Amazon Japan, Surugaya, Mandarake and the other Japanese marketplaces One Map covers.
- Place your order and pay Charge 1, the item price. Make this first purchase on FROM JAPAN; FROM USA purchases and auctions do not count.
- When the item reaches FROM JAPAN's warehouse, choose a shipping method and pay Charge 2: Japanese domestic shipping, the ¥500 handling fee per item and international shipping.
- About 2 months after the items are dispatched, check your FJ Points balance for the 500 points, and contact FROM JAPAN customer service if they have not appeared.
Eligibility & requirements
- New One Map members who reach the site through this referral link; FROM JAPAN says an introduction may not be recognised otherwise.
- The qualifying purchase must be made on FROM JAPAN. Items bought and auctions won on FROM USA do not count.
- No minimum purchase value or end date is published, and FROM JAPAN makes the final decision on points awarded.
- The points are awarded 2 months after your items are dispatched, so they cannot reduce the cost of that first order.
- FJ Points are worth ¥1 each on FROM JAPAN only, cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred, and are lost if you close your account.
- All FJ Points expire if you make no new trade for 1 year after your last one.
- Import duties, VAT and courier charges in your country are payable on top of FROM JAPAN's charges.

Pros
- 500 FJ Points pay for ¥500 of a later order, the same as one item's standard handling fee.
- One account buys from Mercari JP, JDirectItems Auction, Rakuten, Amazon Japan and specialist anime and hobby shops, including sellers that do not ship abroad.
- No payment fees, 60 days' free warehouse storage and parcel consolidation are included in the ¥500-per-item plan.
- Operating since 2004, shipping to more than 190 countries and regions.
Watch out for
- The reward only lands about 2 months after dispatch, so the first order is full price.
- 500 points is small next to international shipping, which is usually the largest cost of an order from Japan.
- Points have no cash value, work only on FROM JAPAN and expire after a year without a trade.
- The check service confirms the right item arrived undamaged; it does not verify authenticity, and swapped or resealed trading cards from private sellers are not covered.
FAQ
- What do I get for signing up through this link?
- 500 FJ Points once you have made a purchase on FROM JAPAN. One FJ Point is worth ¥1 on FROM JAPAN, so the reward covers ¥500 of a later order, such as one item's handling fee.
- When do the 500 FJ Points arrive?
- FROM JAPAN awards them 2 months after your items are dispatched from its warehouse. Signing up alone does not trigger them.
- Does a FROM USA order or auction count?
- No. Only purchases on FROM JAPAN count. Items bought and auctions won on FROM USA are excluded, and FJ Points cannot be spent there either.
- Can I withdraw FJ Points or move them to another account?
- No. FJ Points cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred, lent or combined with another member's points, and they are not refunded if you close your account.
- Do FJ Points expire?
- Yes. All your FJ Points expire if you make no new trade on FROM JAPAN for 1 year after your last one.
- What else will my first order cost?
- The item price, Japanese domestic shipping at cost, a ¥500 handling fee per item, international shipping by weight and method, and any import duty, VAT or courier charge in your country. FROM JAPAN's Fee Calculator estimates the shipping before you order.
